Individual Therapy in Metro Detroit

Lotus Psychology Group understands the importance of the relationship between the therapist and the client. We take a person-centered approach to therapy where the client is in the lead and uncovers their own decisions through self-discovery.

We help the client make decisions for their life, keep our client’s values and goals in mind, listen without judgement and consider the importance of the client’s
life experience, age, gender, culture, heritage, language, and beliefs throughout their therapeutic journey.

What should I expect from therapy?

Individual therapy sessions can range from 45-60 minute sessions and depending on client needs can be twice a week, weekly, or bi-weekly based on what the client and therapist determine is the appropriate  level of care. The duration of therapy will be determined by the clients needs and goals as identified by the therapist and client collectively.

How do I make the most out of my individual sessions?

Your therapist may give you homework after session to keep you thinking about your goals and working on learned coping skills between sessions. It may also be beneficial to journal or bullet point issues between sessions so that you can remember topics to bring up to your therapist. See your therapist as a guide to help you, but remember you are the one in charge of your life and you are in the lead of your therapy.
